Five finalists for the game prize «Mensa Preference 2014»

For the third time Mensa Switzerland awards the game prize «Mensa Preference». The award is dedicated to the best game published in 2013. During the last few months the members have selected the finalists who will compete for the title «Mensa Preference 2013».

The following 5 games are the finalists:

  • «Blueprints» by Yves Tourigny (Z-Man Games), a somewhat different game of dice, that relies less on pure chance than rather on smart and decisive planing;
  • «Bora Bora» by Stefan Feld (Alea/Ravensburger), an inexhaustible production game, that takes place in the South Pacific and requires adaptable planing;
  • «Bruxelles 1893» by Etienne Espreman (Pearl Games/Heidelbär), a very elegant production game, that skillfully incorporates the topic of architecture and allows manifold strategic possibilities;
  • «Die Glasstrasse» by Uwe Rosenberg (Feuerland), a tricky production game, requiring prudent management of the ressources that are always in short supply;
  • «Nosferatu» by Pierre-Yves Lebeau (Grosso Modo), a clever and bloody game of deception, that pits two teams against each other to the death.

The winner of the «Mensa Preference 2014» will be decided by the jury of Mensa members and announced at the Mensa-Spieletag in Zürich on April 13, 2014.
